Senior UI Engineer – Design Systems & AI ToolingAbout the RoleOur Experience Design (XD) team is looking for a talented Senior UI Engineer who is proficient with AI tools and passionate about building libraries that scale. You will join our mature design systems team, pushing UI standards forward, championing accessibility, and building AI-driven tools to increase speed and quality across Design, Engineering, and Product Management teams.What You'll DoCore Design System Contributor: Build, evolve, and maintain production-ready component libraries, API structures, and frameworks.AI Tooling & Automation: Utilize and integrate best-in-class AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, MCP, custom skills) to build infrastructure that helps product teams build faster using design system assets.Developer Experience & Infrastructure: Build tools for automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, build/release pipelines, and metrics tracking to monitor adoption across the company.Standards & Accessibility: Champion accessibility, adaptive design, and document clear engineering standards explaining both the how and why behind design patterns.Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product Designers, Engineers, and Product Managers to align shared processes and evaluate design trade-offs.What You'll BringMust-Have:Strong React + TypeScript: Deep experience building production-level web application UIs and component architecture.Design System / Component Library Experience: Proven track record of architecting, maintaining, and scaling design systems.Strong HTML / CSS / JavaScript Fundamentals: Solid core knowledge without relying solely on third-party frameworks.AI Coding Tools: Hands-on experience with modern AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Gemini, along with an understanding of core concepts (LLMs, MCP, custom tools/skills).Building Reusable Libraries: Direct experience constructing complex, shared libraries used by multiple cross-functional teams.Nice-to-Have & Infrastructure Skills:Modern build tooling experience (Vite, Vanilla Extract, Sass) and working with CI/CD pipelines.Experience with React Native (cross-platform/mobile design systems).Accessibility certifications (e.g., CPACC, WAS) or deep WCAG expertise.Interest or experience building custom plugins for design tools like Figma.
