Our partner is looking for a Senior UX Research and Design Specialist based in United States.This role sits at the intersection of UX research, product design, data visualization, and K-12 education.You will lead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research to understand the needs of teachers, instructional coaches, and school administrators.Your findings will directly shape intuitive, accessible, and production-oriented web experiences for educational data and assessment platforms.The role combines research rigor with hands-on visual design, allowing you to transform insights into high-fidelity interfaces and interactive prototypes.You will work closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to connect educator needs with practical technology solutions.A strong understanding of classroom workflows, student data, and assessment practices will help you design experiences that are genuinely useful to educators.This is an opportunity to influence products used in education while advocating for users and improving how complex student data is understood and acted upon.AccountabilitiesLead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative UX research, including focus groups, structured interviews, surveys, usability testing, and educator panels involving teachers, instructional coaches, and school administrators.Conduct market and competitive research to identify industry trends, benchmark competing EdTech solutions, and uncover opportunities for product differentiation.Develop systematic feedback and research loops that capture evolving user needs, measure changes in perception, and support long-term product adoption.Plan and manage participant recruitment across diverse K-12 populations, including elementary, middle, and high school educators.Translate research findings, user pain points, and behavioral data into high-fidelity web designs, screen flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.Collaborate closely with front-end designers and engineers, providing practical design specifications that align with technical and web-structure requirements.Refine interface hierarchy, navigation, labeling, layouts, and interaction patterns through rapid design iterations informed by research.Apply knowledge of K-12 grading structures, standards-based reporting, and assessment workflows to create accessible and actionable teacher dashboards.Design data visualizations such as progress indicators, matrices, and grouping tools that make complex student information easy for non-technical users to understand.Ensure user experiences and data visualizations follow inclusive design and accessibility principles, including relevant WCAG guidelines.Present research findings and design artifacts, including personas, journey maps, insight summaries, and prototypes, to technical teams and leadership.Partner cross-functionally to ensure educator insights are incorporated into product decisions and ultimately translated into practical, production-ready experiences.Requirements7+ years of professional experience in UX research, interface design, digital analytics architecture, or a closely related discipline.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or another relevant behavioral or technology-focused field.Strong expertise with modern UI wireframing and prototyping tools, particularly Figma or comparable platforms.Demonstrated ability to combine rigorous user research with hands-on interface and visual design capabilities.Experience communicating research findings and design concepts to technical development teams, product stakeholders, and senior leadership.Prior experience as a K-12 teacher, instructional coach, or school-level educator is highly valued, providing firsthand understanding of classroom workflows and educator constraints.Strong understanding of K-12 assessment, standards-based grading, formative assessment, student data, and education technology implementations is preferred.Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, with the ability to read, interpret, and write front-end code to facilitate effective collaboration and developer handoffs.Experience using AI-powered productivity and research tools to generate research scripts, synthesize large datasets, accelerate analysis, or develop rapid prototypes.Familiarity with accessibility and privacy requirements relevant to K-12 digital products, including WCAG and FERPA.Strong analytical, communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex research into clear product recommendations.Strong user advocacy, visual design judgment,
