Senior Vice President, AI SecurityFrankfurt, GermanyFinancial ServicesRole SummaryThe Senior Vice President, AI Security will serve as the executive leader responsible for defining and delivering the organisation's global AI Security strategy across Europe and international markets.This role sits at the intersection of Cyber Security, AI Governance, Technology Risk, Data Protection and Regulatory Compliance. To ensure that Artificial Intelligence technologies are developed, deployed and operated securely within a highly regulated financial services environment.The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership over all aspects of AI security, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning platforms, third-party AI services and emerging autonomous AI capabilities. The SVP will act as the primary advisor to Executive Leadership, Risk Committees and regulators on AI-related cyber risk while enabling responsible innovation across the enterprise.This executive will play a pivotal role in establishing industry-leading AI security practices that align with evolving regulatory requirements, including the EU AI Act, DORA, GDPR and broader supervisory expectations within the European financial sector.Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Leadership & StrategyDefine and deliver the enterprise-wide AI Security vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap.Establish AI Security as a strategic capability supporting business growth, operational excellence and regulatory compliance.Serve as the executive authority for AI Security across all business units and technology domains.Advise the Executive Committee, Supervisory Board, and Risk Committees on AI security risks, investment priorities and emerging threats.Lead large-scale transformation programmes focused on secure AI adoption and governance.Represent the organisation in industry forums, regulatory engagements and external stakeholder discussions.Enterprise AI Security GovernanceDevelop and maintain an enterprise AI Security Framework covering:Generative AILarge Language ModelsTraditional Machine LearningAgentic AI SystemsIntelligent Automation PlatformsEstablish security standards, policies, and control frameworks governing the AI lifecycle.Implement governance processes for AI model approval, monitoring, assurance and retirement.Chair executive AI Security and Governance forums.Oversee enterprise AI inventories, critical model classifications and risk reporting.Security Architecture & EngineeringDefine enterprise security architecture standards for AI and machine learning ecosystems.Drive secure-by-design principles across AI development and deployment processes.Establish AI-focused security controls within DevSecOps and MLOps environments.Lead adoption of advanced controls including:AI red teamingModel security testingConfidential computingRuntime monitoringData lineage and provenance controlsSecure model deployment frameworksPartner with architecture, cloud, infrastructure and engineering teams to embed AI security standards globally.Regulatory Engagement & ComplianceLead the organisation's AI security response to evolving European and global regulatory requirements.Maintain strong relationships with regulators, supervisory authorities and external auditors.Oversee regulatory readiness and compliance activities relating to:EU AI ActDORAGDPREBA GuidelinesECB Supervisory ExpectationsNIS2Model Risk Management standardsProvide executive-level reporting on AI security controls, risk posture and compliance maturity.AI Threat & Resilience ManagementBuild and oversee AI-focused cyber defence capabilities.Establish AI threat intelligence and vulnerability management programmes.Develop AI incident response and recovery capabilities.Lead AI-specific penetration testing and red-team exercises.Ensure resilience of AI platforms supporting critical business processes.Required Experience15+ years of experience in Cyber Security, Technology Risk, Information Security or related fields.8+ years in senior leadership positions within banking, capital markets, insurance, asset management or other highly regulated industries.Proven track record of leading large-scale enterprise security programmes.Demonstrable experience securing AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI environments.Experience interacting with financial regulators, supervisory bodies and board-level stakeholders.Strong understanding of technology governance, operational resilience and risk management frameworks.Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across global organisations.
