Senior Virtualisation Engineer

About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced Senior Virtualisation Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The role will provide advanced technical support across VMware environments, including ESXi, vCenter, clusters, capacity management, performance optimization, and complex incident resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, datastores, and virtual machines.Provide L2/L3 technical support for complex virtualization incidents and problems.Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.Monitor and optimize virtualization infrastructure performance and resource utilization.Conduct capacity planning and identify potential infrastructure constraints.Manage VM provisioning, configuration, migration, and lifecycle activities.Support VMware upgrades, patching, maintenance, and infrastructure migrations.Monitor cluster health, availability, performance, and capacity.Work closely with storage, backup, network, and infrastructure teams.Support backup and disaster recovery activities, including VMware environments integrated with Veeam.Participate in major incident resolution and technical escalation activities.Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.Follow ITSM, change management, security, and infrastructure governance standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise VMware environments.Strong experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.Experience working at L2/L3 support level.Strong knowledge of virtualization, servers, storage, networking, and backup technologies.Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.Experience working within ITIL/ITSM environments.Preferred QualificationsVMware VCP-DCV certification.VMware VCAP-DCV certification.Veeam certification.Experience with enterprise-scale virtualization environments.Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity environments.
