Staff members communicate primarily in English, Tamil, and Sinhala, and the property is conveniently located close to Trincomalee city, beaches, ATMs, and regional airports.Role Description The Senior Waiter & Waiter roles are full-time, on-site positions based at Amaranthé Bay Resort and Spa in Trincomalee. Team members will welcome guests, present menus, take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure a high standard of table service in the restaurant, bar, and other dining areas. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with the kitchen, checking orders for accuracy, setting up and clearing tables, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation in all service areas. Senior Waiters will guide and support junior staff, assist with training, handle guest queries or complaints professionally, and help manage reservations and special events. All wait staff are expected to follow hygiene and safety standards, promote menu items, and contribute to creating a warm, attentive, and memorable guest experience.Qualifications Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with guests from diverse backgrounds.Knowledge of food & beverage offerings, including menu items, ingredients, and basic pairing recommendations.Hands-on experience in food service, including order taking, table setting, plating presentation, and serving etiquette.Effective communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey information clearly in English; knowledge of Tamil and/or Sinhala is an advantage.Basic cooking or kitchen support skills are beneficial for coordinating with culinary teams and understanding preparation processes.Previous experience in hotel or resort restaurants, preferably in a senior or supervisory waiter position for Senior Waiter applicants.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and to stand and walk for extended periods.Attention to detail, reliability, and a strong focus on cleanliness and food safety standards.Formal
