We’re Hiring: Senior WordPress / WooCommerce DeveloperLocation: ChennaiExperience: 6–10 years1-2-Taste is looking for a senior developer to take ownership of the development, performance and technical stability of our B2B food-ingredients platform.You will work on a live, transaction-driven WooCommerce environment with integrations, automation workflows and AI-enabled functionality—not just a standard content website. The role covers webshop development, system connectivity, performance, documentation and continuous technical improvement.What you will ownDevelop and improve WordPress and WooCommerce functionality.Maintain a stable, secure and scalable webshop environment.Own the technical architecture and code quality of the WordPress/WooCommerce platform.Develop and maintain custom plugins, themes, WooCommerce extensions and reusable components.Maintain platform security through timely updates, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.Build, maintain and monitor integrations with Zoho and other business systems, including robust error handling, retry mechanisms, logging and data validation.Develop APIs, automation workflows and data exchanges.Own development, staging and production deployment processes, including release validation and rollback procedures.Implement monitoring and logging for webshop performance, integrations and critical background processes.Improve webshop speed, technical performance and user experience.Diagnose and resolve bugs, integration failures and production issues, including RCA and preventive fixes.Maintain clear technical documentation, coding standards and development best practices.Use AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed, testing, documentation and code quality.Contribute to AI-enabled customer journeys, automation and self-service capabilities.What we are looking for6–10 years of professional WordPress development experience.Strong hands-on expertise in WooCommerce.Advanced PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS skills.Experience developing custom themes, plugins and WooCommerce extensions.Strong understanding of WordPress hooks, REST APIs and third-party integrations.Experience with Git, staging environments, deployment and production support.Ability to optimize Core Web Vitals, database performance, caching and page speed.Strong debugging and structured problem-solving skills.A high level of ownership and attention to technical stability.Based in or able to work from Chennai.Strong AI affinity is essentialWe are looking for someone who actively explores how AI can improve software development and digital commerce. You should be comfortable using AI coding tools and interested in applying LLMs, APIs and automation to real business processes.Experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT or similar development assistants is valuable.
