Team members have opportunities to work with diverse vessels and technologies, contribute to operational excellence, and develop their skills within a safety-focused, service-oriented environment.Role Description The Service Engineer – Marine Propulsion is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Arab Emirates, responsible for inspection, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of marine propulsion systems on a variety of vessels. Daily tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing scheduled and reactive maintenance, and supporting installation and alignment of engines, gearboxes, shafts, propellers, and control systems. The role involves conducting tests and sea trials, preparing service reports and documentation, and advising clients on proper operation and preventive maintenance. The Service Engineer collaborates with technical teams, follows safety and environmental regulations, and ensures that all work meets manufacturer specifications and industry standards. The position may require travel within the region, working in shipyards and onboard vessels, and occasional extended or flexible hours to support vessel availability.Qualifications Technical expertise in marine propulsion systems, including marine engines, gearboxes, shaft lines, propellers, and control systems.Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of marine or industrial equipment.Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical and electronic systems related to propulsion controls, instrumentation, and monitoring.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and manufacturer specifications.Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills in field service environments.Proficiency in preparing clear service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.Awareness of marine safety standards, environmental regulations, and best practices for working onboard vessels and in shipyards.Relevant technical qualification or diploma/degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.Prior experience as a marine service engineer, marine technician, or similar role is highly beneficial.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues in diverse settings.Willingness to work on-site, travel to vessels or shipyards within the United Arab Emirates, and adapt to varying schedules and offshore conditions.
