Service Engineer - Packaging & Automation Machinery

We are seeking a technically competent, motivated and customer-focused Service Engineer to join our technical service team in Dubai.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out installation, commissioning, testing and servicing of industrial packaging machinery and automation equipment at customer sites.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic and automation-related faults to minimise equipment downtime.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.Provide technical support for packaging machines, coding and marking equipment, inspection systems and end-of-line automation solutions.Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, sensors, drives, motors, pneumatic components and associated control systems.Conduct equipment performance checks, calibration where applicable, and operational testing.Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers' production and maintenance teams.Prepare detailed service reports, installation reports and maintenance documentation.Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and internal technical teams to resolve complex technical issues.Identify spare parts requirements and recommend suitable maintenance solutions.Maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring prompt, professional and effective technical support.Travel to customer sites across the UAE and GCC, particularly Saudi Arabia and Oman, as required.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or a related Engineering discipline.Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing of industrial machinery.Experience working with industrial packaging equipment, production machinery or automated manufacturing systems.Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, industrial automation and fault diagnosis.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, mechanical diagrams and technical manuals.Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Valid UAE driving licence – mandatory.Willingness to travel extensively within the UAE and GCC.Preferred Qualifications & ExperiencePrevious technical service experience in Saudi Arabia and/or Oman will be a distinct advantage.Experience with PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, sensors and pneumatic systems.Familiarity with packaging machinery, checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray inspection systems, coding equipment or wrapping machines.Previous experience working with European industrial machinery manufacturers.Experience in field service engineering, customer technical support and preventive maintenance contracts.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently at customer sites.Customer-oriented approach with good interpersonal skills.Effective time management and service coordination.Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent service requirements.Commitment to safety, quality and professional service standards.What We OfferCompetitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience.Opportunity to work with internationally recognised industrial machinery brands.Technical training and professional development opportunities.Exposure to customers and industrial applications across the GCC.Long-term career opportunities within an established organisation.How to ApplyInterested candidates meeting the above requirements are invited to submit their updated CV, highlighting their technical experience, machinery expertise and UAE driving license status.Email: careers@althika.comSubject: Application – Service EngineerOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
