As a family-owned business, TED values knowledgeable, caring NDT professionals who prioritize customer satisfaction.Role Description The Service Technician role is a full-time position based in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. The Service Technician will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of NDT equipment and related systems, both in the workshop and at customer locations as needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, executing troubleshooting procedures, completing service reports, and ensuring work is performed in accordance with safety and quality standards. The role involves interacting with customers to explain findings, provide recommendations, and support proper use and care of equipment. The Service Technician will collaborate with other team members and project managers to meet service deadlines and uphold TED’s commitment to reliable, responsive support.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for NDT or similar technical equipment.Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.Candidates should possess Field Service experience, including working at customer sites and managing on-site service tasks.Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.Technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical systems; ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.Experience with NDT equipment or industrial service equipment is preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or related fields is a plus.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally for service calls as needed.Ability to lift and move equipment, stand for extended periods, and work safely with tools and testing devices.
