The Shipping Clerk is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying orders, preparing shipping documents, and coordinating with carriers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. Daily tasks include packing and labeling items, organizing freight on the dock or in storage areas, and maintaining shipping and receiving records in company systems. The role may involve operating material-handling equipment, monitoring shipment status, and communicating with internal teams and customers about delivery schedules and freight issues. The Shipping Clerk supports a safe and orderly work environment by following company procedures and applicable safety guidelines.Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Shipping & Receiving and Shipping to manage freight flow, documentation, and carrier coordination.Candidates should possess Packing skills to prepare, protect, and label items for secure and compliant shipment.Candidates should possess Forklift Operation skills or other material-handling experience to safely move and stage freight.Candidates should possess Communication skills to interact clearly with team members, carriers, and customers.Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software or logistics systems are beneficial.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.Ability to stand, lift, and move freight as required, following safety practices; prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping environment is an advantage.High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to complete any required safety or equipment training.
