Shop Foreman – CNC Machine Shop (Day Shift, Berkeley)Are you a machinist who's good at more than running one machine? Do you check your own parts, see which job is going to be late, and fix it before it is? We want you to run our shop floor day to day.We're a small precision machine shop in Berkeley. We make small, tight-tolerance turned parts for medical, lab-instrument, audio and industrial customers on seven Citizen Swiss-type machines, CNC lathes and a CNC mill. We run on ProShop ERP and use AI tools to handle the paperwork and reports.What you'll do- Run the morning huddle and keep the daily schedule in ProShop- First-piece, in-process and final inspection to the print- Run second ops, tend Swiss machines- Lead a small crew day-to-day and help them grow- Know the real ship date for every job and keep customers informedWhat you bring- 5+ years as a CNC machinist, including setups and inspecting your own work- Solid print reading and GD&T; confident with micrometers, bore and pin gauges, height gauge, and optical comparator- Experience with any ERP or job-tracking system (ProShop, E2, JobBOSS, Epicor or similar)- You follow up, communicate clearly, and aren't afraid to check parts or pick up a deburring tool- Swiss, screw machine, ISO 9001, or lead or inspector experience is a big plus, but not requiredWhy work here- Day shift, Monday to Friday, no regular weekends- Small team and a real say in how the shop runs- Steady production work, not boom-and-bust project work- Modern tools: ProShop ERP, machine monitoring, and AI that helps with the paperwork- Health insurance, 401(k) and paid time off- A path to production manager as the shop growsPay: $38–$52/hour, depending on experienceTo apply: send a short note about the shop you work in now and a part or job you're proud of.
