Shop Manager

Museum Studio is looking for an experienced and driven Boutique Manager to lead the retail team at the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the museum boutique, ensuring a seamless and memorable shopping experience that reflects the wonder of the Museum's collections and its mission to inspire a love of the natural world. As the operational and commercial lead of the boutique, you will manage the team, drive sales performance, and work closely with museum departments and external partners to bring the Museum's story to life through retail. Candidates must be based in Abu Dhabi.What you'll do : 1. Boutique Operations & Team Management– Manage the day-to-day operations of the museum boutique, ensuring smooth and efficient retail activities.– Lead, train, motivate, and schedule the boutique team to deliver excellent customer service.– Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, stock movement, and product availability.– Oversee receiving, merchandising, replenishment, stock counts, and loss prevention.2. Visitor Experience & Merchandising– Maintain attractive and engaging product displays in line with museum exhibitions, collections, and brand guidelines.– Deliver a high-quality and welcoming experience to museum visitors, tourists, members, and VIP guests.– Handle customer enquiries, feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally.– Assist with product selection, new product launches, seasonal collections, and exhibition-related merchandise.3. Financial Management & Reporting– Coordinate with museum departments, suppliers, designers, and external partners as required.– Manage cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, daily reconciliations, and financial controls.– Prepare regular sales, inventory, and operational reports for management.– Identify opportunities to improve product offerings, customer engagement, and overall boutique performance.Profil This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach, and a genuine passion for retail and visitor experience. You should have proven experience managing a retail team, ideally within a museum, cultural, or premium retail environment, along with solid skills in stock management, merchandising, and financial controls. A good level of English (Arabic or other additional languages are a bonus), strong organizational skills, and a natural curiosity for natural history and science will be highly valued.
