PTS focuses on earning and maintaining customer trust through experience, reliability, and cost-effective solutions.Role Description The Shop Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Broussard, LA. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and preparing oilfield and production testing equipment in the shop to ensure safe, reliable operation in the field. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, performing mechanical and hydraulic repairs, cleaning and assembling tools, conducting functional tests, and documenting work performed. The Shop Technician assists with inventory control, organizes tools and parts, and may operate forklifts or other shop machinery to move and stage equipment. Collaboration with supervisors, technicians, and other team members is required to meet project deadlines and support field operations, while following all safety procedures and company standards.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair skills, with experience working on mechanical, hydraulic, or oilfield equipment.Candidates should possess Heavy Equipment and Forklift Operation skills, including safe handling, loading, and moving of tools and components.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions, document work clearly, and coordinate with team members.Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose equipment issues and propose timely, practical solutions.Basic knowledge of safety regulations and shop practices, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company safety policies.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, bending, and working in a shop environment for extended periods.High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or vocational training in mechanics or industrial technology is a plus.Previous experience in oilfield services, production testing, or related industrial fields is beneficial but not required.
