Job DescriptionFactory / Shopfloor ManagerAbdullah Hassan SwitchgearLocation: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Reporting To: General Manager / Managing Director Employment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryAbdullah Hassan Switchgear is seeking an experienced and results-driven Factory / Shopfloor Manager to lead and optimize our switchgear manufacturing and assembly operations in Dubai.The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence across production, planning, manpower utilization, quality, safety, and delivery performance. A key objective of this role is to transform factory operations by improving productivity, maximizing capacity utilization, reducing production bottlenecks, improving employee engagement, and accelerating the conversion of order backlog into invoiced revenue.This role requires a hands-on leader with strong experience in switchgear assembly operations, production planning, continuous improvement, and people management.Key ResponsibilitiesFactory Operations ManagementLead all day-to-day manufacturing and assembly activities within the switchgear production facility.Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within quality standards.Manage fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, packing, and dispatch activities.Establish clear production priorities and daily execution plans.Drive accountability and performance across all shopfloor teams.Ensure effective coordination between sales, engineering, procurement, stores, production, testing, and logistics.Production Planning & Revenue ConversionDevelop and implement effective production planning and scheduling processes.Convert confirmed orders and backlog into timely production output and customer deliveries.Monitor order status and proactively remove bottlenecks impacting delivery commitments.Improve factory throughput and optimize workflow across all production stages.Ensure materials, manpower, and machine capacities are aligned with production requirements.Establish and monitor production KPIs related to output, efficiency, and revenue realization.Capacity Utilization & Productivity ImprovementAnalyze current factory utilization levels and implement improvement initiatives.Increase productivity through better manpower deployment and workflow optimization.Reduce idle time, waiting time, rework, and production losses.Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.Drive improvements in labor productivity and manufacturing efficiency.Establish production dashboards and visual management systems.Shopfloor Leadership & Employee EngagementLead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, technicians, and assembly teams.Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability and teamwork.Improve workforce morale and engagement through effective communication and leadership.Address performance issues promptly and professionally.Foster a positive work environment emphasizing safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.Quality ManagementEnsure compliance with quality standards and client specifications.Monitor production quality and minimize defects, rework, and customer complaints.Work closely with QA/QC teams to improve first-time-right performance.Ensure proper documentation and traceability throughout production processes.Support factory audits and customer inspections.Inventory & Material ControlCoordinate closely with procurement and stores teams to ensure availability of materials.Monitor material shortages and proactively mitigate supply risks.Optimize inventory utilization and reduce excess stock.Ensure proper material handling and storage practices.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with company HSE policies and local regulatory requirements.Promote a strong safety culture across the factory.Conduct regular safety reviews and housekeeping inspections.Ensure employees adhere to established safety procedures.Continuous Improvement & Process ExcellenceIdentify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.Introduce process improvements to enhance quality, delivery, and productivity.Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all production functions.Drive digitalization and reporting improvements where applicable.Lead factory improvement projects and change management initiatives.Key Deliverables (First 12 Months)The successful candidate will be expected to deliver measurable improvements in:Factory capacity utilization.On-time delivery performance.Production output and throughput.Order backlog reduction.Revenue conversion from confirmed operations.QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.Experience6-8 years of experience in switchgear manufacturing, assembly, or electrical panel production.Minimum 2 years in a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Shopfloor Manager, or similar leadership role.Proven experience managing LV Switchboards, MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, Capacitor Banks, Control Panels, and related switchgear assemblies.UAE or GCC experience preferred.Technical CompetenciesProduction Planning &
