Shopify & E-commerce Assistant

We are looking for a switched-on, highly organised and proactive Shopify & E-commerce Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our two retail websites, Sand Dollar Dubai and Heart Cottage Lane.Working closely with our E-commerce Manager, this role is ideal for someone who already has hands-on Shopify experience, understands how an online store should look and operate, and has the initiative to spot what needs doing without always having to be asked.This is not simply a data-entry role.We are looking for someone commercially minded who understands that the website is our digital shop floor and needs to be constantly updated, attractive, easy to navigate and focused on driving sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day management of both Shopify websites.
• Merchandise and visually manage the websites, ensuring New In, collections, categories and featured products are always current and presented beautifully.
• Upload and organise new products, including imagery, descriptions, pricing, tags, collections and variants.
• Update homepage content, banners, landing pages and promotional sections alongside the E-commerce Manager.
• Regularly review both websites and identify outdated products, incorrect imagery, broken links, merchandising opportunities or improvements.
• Manage and optimise the Rebuy app, including cross-sells, upsells, recommended products and other merchandising opportunities.
• Assist with Shopify promotions, discount codes, collections and campaign set-up.
• Support general e-commerce and digital marketing activity across both brands.
• Help prepare website content for new product launches, promotions and seasonal campaigns.
• Basic Canva skills would be a strong advantage for resizing imagery, creating simple graphics and supporting marketing materials.
• Assist with reporting and general Shopify administration when required.
• Support the wider office with general administrative tasks.What We Are Looking ForThe successful candidate will:
• Have previous hands-on Shopify experience — this is essential.
• Be confident navigating Shopify products, collections, inventory, discounts and website content.
• Have a good visual eye and understand online merchandising and product presentation.
• Be comfortable learning and managing Shopify apps such as Rebuy.
• Be extremely organised and detail-oriented.
• Have excellent computer and administrative skills.
• Be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities across two brands.
• Be proactive, resourceful and confident using their own initiative.
• Be commercially aware and constantly thinking about how the website can be improved.
• Have strong written English.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-moving retail environment where priorities can change quickly.Experience with Canva, email marketing, Shopify apps, digital marketing or e-commerce reporting would be a bonus.The PersonWe are looking for someone bright, capable and enthusiastic who enjoys taking ownership of their work. You should be the type of person who notices when something doesn’t look right, investigates it and fixes it rather than waiting to be instructed.This role would suit someone who enjoys a mix of e-commerce, website merchandising, marketing and general administration, and who wants to grow within two busy Dubai retail businesses.
