CHSU’s 110-acre site is planned for long-term growth, with future expansion of health professions programs and facilities; more information is available at chsu.edu.Role Description The Simulation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at the CHSU campus in Clovis, CA. This position supports day-to-day operations of the Simulation Center by preparing simulation rooms, setting up and operating patient simulators and related audiovisual equipment, and ensuring scenarios run smoothly. The Simulation Technician assists faculty and staff in configuring simulation software, testing equipment prior to sessions, and providing technical support during teaching activities. Daily responsibilities include performing basic maintenance on simulators and task trainers, tracking inventory of supplies, and helping reset rooms between sessions. The role also involves documenting equipment usage, reporting issues, coordinating with vendors or internal support for repairs, and contributing to continuous improvement of simulation workflows and learner experience.Qualifications Ability to perform equipment maintenance, including routine checks and basic adjustments on simulation manikins and related devices.Experience with preventive maintenance practices to ensure reliability and longevity of simulation and audiovisual equipment.Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues during or between simulation sessions.Hands-on experience with maintenance and repair tasks, including coordinating service requests and working with vendors as needed.General maintenance capabilities to manage cables, peripherals, room setup, and safe operation of all equipment.Familiarity with computer hardware, networking basics, and simulation or audiovisual software systems.Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with faculty, staff, and learners in a training environment.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, including documentation, inventory management, and scheduling support.Ability to lift and move equipment and to work in a hands-on, technology-rich environment.Associate degree or equivalent experience in biomedical equipment technology, IT, engineering, or a related field; prior experience in a clinical, academic, or simulation setting is preferred.
