Site Civil Engineer

Job TitleInfrastructure Civil EngineerRequired ExperienceMinimum of 4 years in the execution, management, and supervision of infrastructure projects, with prior experience in technical office work and field supervision of infrastructure network projects.Job Objective:To provide technical and engineering supervision for the execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring work compliance with plans, technical specifications, and quality and safety standards. Responsibilities also include reviewing engineering documents and drawings, conducting quantity take-offs, and coordinating between various network activities and project stakeholders.Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Supervise the execution of infrastructure projects and monitor on-site activities in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
• Review and approve shop drawings and detailed drawings, ensuring their alignment with the design and specifications.
• Work within the technical office to review technical documents and drawings, and prepare quantity take-offs and payment applications.
• Review and approve project materials, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
• Supervise road network works, including cut-and-fill operations, sub-grade and base layers, asphalt paving, sidewalks, entrances, and related roadworks.
• Supervise the installation of stormwater and flood drainage networks, including drainage lines, culverts, manholes, catch basins, and associated structures.
• Supervise the installation of sanitary sewer networks and monitor the construction of network lines, manholes, and inspection chambers, as well as network testing procedures.
• Supervise the implementation of water networks and monitor works related to water lines, valve chambers, connections, testing, and tie-ins.
• Oversee the execution of infrastructure works for electricity, telecommunications, and telephone networks, coordinating with relevant authorities and contractors.
• Coordinate between various infrastructure networks to avoid conflicts and verify network elevations and alignments against approved plans.
• Review survey plans and oversee project surveying activities, including site surveys and setting-out.
• Monitor work progress and compare completion rates against the project schedule.
• Prepare and review quantity take-offs, payment applications, change orders, and claims in accordance with project requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports as well as daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical observations, ensuring their resolution in coordination with the consultant and contractor.
• Ensure the implementation of quality, safety, and occupational health procedures during construction activities.
• Oversee required testing and inspections for infrastructure networks and materials used.
• Address technical issues on-site and propose appropriate engineering solutions in coordination with the project team.
• Maintain continuous coordination with contractors, consultants, utility providers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow.
• Oversee preliminary and final handover processes, including the preparation and follow-up of "punch lists" (snag lists).
• Review "As-Built" drawings and ensure they are updated to reflect the work actually executed.Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in technical office work and project supervision.
• Experience with projects involving roads, stormwater/flood drainage networks, sewage systems, water supply, electricity, and telecommunications.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Solid knowledge of quantity surveying, payment applications (progress claims), and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and MS Project is preferred.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and track work progress and engineering documentation.
• Ability to coordinate and manage workflows between site teams, the technical office, contractors, and consultants.
