SITE MANAGER

Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in the sports events industry to oversee end-to-end site operations, infrastructure delivery, and on-site coordination for major sporting events. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractors, supervising site teams, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational readiness throughout event build-up, live operations, and dismantling.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all site operations throughout the event lifecycle, including planning, build-up, live event delivery, and dismantling.Develop and monitor site plans, work schedules, installation timelines, and operational readiness plans.Manage Site Supervisors, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site operational teams.Coordinate the installation and delivery of temporary event infrastructure, including structures, grandstands, barriers, signage, access routes, and spectator facilities.Liaise with event organisers, venue management, technical teams, security, logistics, health and safety, and other stakeholders.Ensure all site activities comply with approved designs, project specifications, safety standards, and event requirements.Monitor project progress, resource allocation, manpower, equipment, and materials to ensure timely delivery within agreed budgets.Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and readiness reviews to identify and resolve potential issues.Manage site-related risks, operational challenges, and last-minute changes, implementing corrective actions where required.Ensure emergency access routes, crowd movement areas, and operational zones are properly established and maintained.Prepare progress reports, maintain site documentation, and provide regular updates to senior management and project stakeholders.Lead site handover, operational readiness checks, and post-event dismantling to ensure the site is returned to the required condition.Required SkillsStrong understanding of temporary event infrastructure, site logistics, contractor management, and event delivery timelines.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors, supervisors, and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.Good knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, method statements, and site compliance.Strong project management, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage tight deadlines and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays during event periods.Willingness to travel to event sites and work across multiple venues when required.Required QualificationsDegree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Event Management, or a related field.Relevant health and safety certifications are an advantage.Experience Requirement5-8 years of experience in site management, preferably within the sports events, live events, or large-scale event infrastructure industry.Proven experience managing site operations for sporting events, tournaments, stadium events, or major outdoor events.Experience delivering international sporting events, major tournaments, or multi-venue sports projects.Experience managing temporary infrastructure installation, event site handovers, and dismantling operations.
