Site Support Engineer (CCTV & Linux Device Installation)

About the RoleWe are seeking a Site Support Engineer to handle client-side installation and support of CCTV and Linux-based devices. The core focus of this role is deploying edge devices, generating and validating RTSP streams from VMS/NVR platforms, and ensuring continuous camera and device availability. When accessibility or camera issues arise, the engineer coordinates with Site Service Providers (SSPs) for resolution and travels to sites when on-site intervention is required.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure CCTV cameras and Linux-based devices at client sites, including setup, connectivity, and commissioning.Generate RTSP streams from VMS/NVR systems and verify that each stream is correctly configured, accessible, and stable.Monitor and ensure the ongoing availability of cameras, devices, and RTSP feeds, responding promptly to any disruptions.Troubleshoot device accessibility issues and camera connectivity failures at both the network and device level.In cases where devices or cameras are not accessible, coordinate with Site Service Providers (SSPs) to identify and implement a fix.Visit client sites when required to perform hands-on diagnosis, repairs, or reinstallation.Maintain accurate records of installations, RTSP configurations, device status, and incident resolutions.Report on device and camera availability and escalate recurring or unresolved issues.Required QualificationsExperience with CCTV camera installation and configuration.Basic Linux skills (command line, service checks, network configuration, log review) for device setup and troubleshooting.Hands-on experience generating and validating RTSP streams from VMS/NVR platforms.Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, ports, connectivity troubleshooting) as they relate to camera and device access.Strong troubleshooting skills for device and camera accessibility issues.Ability to coordinate effectively with third-party Site Service Providers (SSPs).A valid driving license is required, with willingness to travel to client sites.Desirable SkillsFamiliarity with common VMS/NVR platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Hikvision, Dahua).Experience with RTSP/ONVIF standards and streaming protocols.Knowledge of PoE, IP camera networking, and structured cabling.Key AttributesReliable and responsive, with a focus on maintaining system uptime.Self-motivated and able to work independently across multiple sites.Clear communicator, comfortable coordinating with external providers.Organized and detail-oriented in documentation and reporting.Mandatory to have Driving Licence.
