Skin Applications Scientist

RiverD International BV develops and produces unique high-quality optical instruments for in vivo analysis of the human skin using Raman spectroscopy. The instruments are sold worldwide to personal care and pharmaceutical industries and to universities and university hospitals. RiverD also develops Raman spectroscopic instruments for other medical and life sciences applications.  We are looking for an Applications Scientist to support the work on in vivo skin analysis and skin permeation of topical products, and to engage with customers to learn and understand what customers need. You will join a team of experts in the field of Raman spectroscopic analysis of the skin. The job location is Rotterdam. What you will be doing:·        Plan and conduct feasibility studies using the gen2-SCA Skin Composition Analyzer·        Support the gen2-SCA Operator Training, which is given four times per year·        Engage with customers at exhibitions, customer visits, and other opportunities·        Interact with marketing to convert customer needs into actions·        Validate new methods for skin analysis·        Act as Chemistry Safety Officer, organizing the safe handling of chemicals at RiverD. What we are looking for:·        MSc in life sciences or relevant biomedical or biochemical discipline·        Team player, easy communication, customer orientation·        Quality-conscious with a proactive and hands-on mentality·        Comfortable working with a quality management system (e.g. ISO 13485, ISO 9001)  Other requirements:·        Proficient in English (spoken and written)·        You must have the legal right to work in the EU Salary and benefits:We offer a competitive starting salary, depending on experience and qualifications, plus participation in the RiverD pension plan. Approaches by recruitment agencies are not appreciated and will not be considered.
