The organisation maintains an active online presence and encourages direct contact from those seeking specific sailing or training opportunities.Role Description: The Skippers/Instructors internship is an on-site role based in Hamble-Le-Rice, supporting daily sailing school operations and guest experiences. Interns assist in preparing and maintaining boats, helping with safety briefings, and supporting the delivery of practical sailing instruction under supervision. Responsibilities include welcoming and guiding participants, supporting coastal and training passages, and ensuring a professional, friendly environment for learners and guests. The role may also involve helping with logistics for races and adventure trips, carrying out basic administrative tasks, and collaborating with experienced skippers and instructors to ensure safe, enjoyable sailing activities.QualificationsStrong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and support learners and guests.Practical experience working with boats, including basic handling, deck work, and onboard safety awareness.Foundational seamanship skills, such as line handling, sail trimming, and understanding of safety procedures.Basic navigation knowledge, including charts, tides, and use of electronic navigation aids.Interest or experience in maritime environments and willingness to learn professional sailing school standards.Ability to work safely in a physically demanding, outdoor setting and follow health and safety guidelines.Team-oriented mindset, reliability, and readiness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.Relevant sailing qualifications or RYA certificates are an advantage but not mandatory for motivated learners.
