The university fosters a tenacious, hard-working culture that supports student success and professional growth.Role Description The Assistant Professor of Construction Management, Tenure Track (Fall 2027) will be a full-time faculty member responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in construction management and related areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and delivering course content, advising students, assessing learning outcomes, and maintaining high standards of academic quality. The role also involves engaging in scholarly activity, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in departmental and university service, such as committees and outreach initiatives. The faculty member is expected to collaborate with colleagues, support student experiential learning and industry engagement, and uphold inclusive and equitable teaching practices. This is an on-site role located at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA.Qualifications Advanced academic preparation in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field; terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) is preferred or in progress.Demonstrated knowledge of construction management domains such as project planning and scheduling, estimating, contracts, safety, building systems, and sustainable construction practices.Evidence of effective teaching or instructional experience, including course design, classroom management, assessment of student learning, and use of diverse, inclusive pedagogical approaches.Professional experience in the construction industry, including familiarity with current practices, standards, and relevant technologies or software (e.g., BIM tools, scheduling and estimating applications).Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners in a diverse academic community.Commitment to scholarly or creative activity, such as research, publications, presentations, or professional development aligned with construction management and education.Willingness to contribute to departmental and university service, including committee work, accreditation activities, student mentoring, and community or industry engagement.Ability to support
