Company DescriptionMySmartHome is a Dubai-based smart home company specializing in the design, supply, installation, and configuration of smart home systems including lighting, climate control, curtains, security, networking, access control, and other connected technologies.We focus on understanding customer requirements in detail and translating them into practical, reliable systems that work as expected.Our approach is simple: understand the project properly, communicate clearly, take ownership of the technical details, and make sure the installation is executed correctly from the start.We work with homeowners as well as developers, interior designers, contractors, and other project partners across Dubai.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Smart Home Technical Project Engineer to take responsibility for the technical execution of our smart home projects.This is not simply an installation or technician role.You will be responsible for understanding each project in detail, guiding installation teams, configuring smart home systems, solving technical problems, testing and commissioning systems, and making sure the finished installation matches the agreed project requirements.You may be responsible for more than one active project at a time. This can involve visiting one site to guide an installation team, checking progress at another site later in the day, and coordinating technical requirements across different projects.Your work will include:

• Understanding project requirements, drawings, equipment lists, and system designs before installation
• Planning the technical execution of smart home projects
• Guiding electricians and installation teams on where and how equipment should be installed
• Checking installations and identifying mistakes or potential problems before they become difficult or expensive to correct
• Configuring smart home devices, hubs, switches, sensors, lighting controls, thermostats, curtains, locks, cameras, networking equipment, and other connected systems
• Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting smart home systems
• Resolving integration issues between different systems and devices
• Visiting project sites across Dubai to check progress, provide technical guidance, and resolve issues
• Coordinating technical requirements with installation teams, customers, contractors, designers, suppliers, and other project stakeholders when required
• Researching and testing solutions when customers have special requirements or when a project requires something we have not implemented before
• Maintaining clear documentation of configurations, technical decisions, and important project information
• Making sure systems are properly tested and ready before handoverWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work and solving problems — not someone who simply follows installation instructions.The right person should be able to understand a project, identify what needs to happen, spot potential problems, communicate clearly with installation teams, and take responsibility for getting the technical details right.You should also be comfortable researching and learning new technologies independently when a project presents something unfamiliar.Qualifications & Skills
• Strong technical aptitude and analytical problem-solving ability
• Experience with smart home, home automation, electrical systems, networking, IoT, CCTV, access control, AV, BMS, or similar technical systems is highly desirable
• Good understanding of electrical and low-voltage systems and safe installation practices
• Good understanding of IP networking, including LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, routers, switches, and connected devices
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans
• Comfortable configuring software, apps, devices, controllers, and network-connected systems
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems methodically
• Good communication skills and confidence working with electricians, contractors, customers, and other project stakeholders
• Ability to organise work across multiple active projects and keep track of outstanding technical issues
• Willingness to travel regularly between project sites across Dubai
• Valid UAE driving licence is strongly preferred
• Experience with KNX, Zigbee, Wi-Fi-based smart home systems, or other automation platforms is beneficial
• Diploma, degree, or practical background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, IT, Networking, Automation, or a related field is beneficial, but strong practical experience is equally importantWorking ArrangementThis is a full-time role based in Dubai.The position is primarily site-based and project-based, with some work that can be completed remotely when site presence is not required.What We Offer
