Our signature event, The Monologue Slam, is the largest recurring performing arts event for the BIPOC arts community in NYC — a high-energy theatrical experience featuring original and published works before a live audience of 750+.About the Role We're seeking a creative, culturally-plugged-in Social Media & Engagement Intern to help bring Soul Soirée's story to life across our digital platforms. You'll assist with content strategy, trend research, and real-time community engagement — working directly with our team to keep our audience connected to everything we're building.ResponsibilitiesAssess social media trends and translate them into creative content ideasDraft and schedule Instagram captions, Reels, and StoriesIdeate original content for upcoming events and campaignsRespond to audience engagement, comments, and DMsSupport live event coverage and behind-the-scenes content captureHelp finalize and maintain the content calendarQualificationsStrong understanding of social media trends, formats, and platform behaviorExcellent writing skills with a sharp, culture-aware voiceComfortable with content tools (Canva, CapCut, or similar)Detail-oriented and able to work around live event deadlinesInternship DetailsDuration: 3 months, with potential to transition into paid contract workHours: 8–10 hours/weekCompensation: Unpaid, with a stipend provided through our November Monologue Slam eventPast Soul Soirée interns have gone on to full-time roles elsewhere in the industry, building directly on the work and portfolio they developed here
