As an SDE II at Swiggy, you will design, build, and own large-scale, high-concurrency backendsystems that power products used by millions of customers every day. You will take servicesfrom a blank page to production - defining the architecture, making the technology choices, andowning reliability, performance, and scale end to end. You will co-drive your team's technicalvision, raise the bar on engineering quality, and mentor other developers as they grow. Equallyimportant, our platforms are increasingly intelligent: you will build and integrate LLM-driven andagentic AI workflows into these systems, collaborating with product and business teams totranslate product features into agent-driven, production-grade designs. We are looking for astrong systems engineer with solid AI experience - someone who thinks deeply about datamodeling, distributed systems, and what it takes to keep services fast and dependable underreal-world load, and who knows how to bring LLM-powered capabilities into that world reliably.Job DescriptionWhat qualities are we looking for?B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a product development company. Proven experience designing and building distributed, high-concurrency, low-latencybackend systems at scale. Has built multiple services from scratch and owned them end to end - architecture,development, deployment, monitoring, and on-call operations. Strong grasp of scalability fundamentals: caching, queuing/async processing, sharding andpartitioning, replication, load balancing, rate limiting, and fault tolerance. Strong design skills involving data modeling, low-level class design, API design, andsystem design. Good knowledge of object-oriented programming, concurrency primitives, and designpatterns. Proficiency in at least one programming language - Python, Java, Golang. Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems (e.g.,Kafka, SQS), and Linux/Unix platforms. Follows industry coding standards and is responsible for writing maintainable, scalable,and efficient code to solve business problems. A strong team player who has mentored junior developers and helped raise the technicalbar of the team. Hands-on experience integrating LLMs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic(Claude), Bedrock, and Azure OpenAI into production systems. Practical experience with LangChain or LangGraph for building AI-driven workflows andorchestration; exposure to agentic/multi-agent architectures preferred. Strong technical aptitude and good knowledge of CS fundamentals. Mentor and guide developers on the team through design feedback, pairing, and codereviews. Design and ship AI-driven and agentic workflows within your services, and experiment withnew and relevant technologies and tools, driving adoption while measuring yourself on theimpact you create.
