Software Engineer, AI - Bay Area (Hybrid) Salary Range: $190,000 - $240,000 base + equityMy client, a fast-growing compliance technology company, is hiring a Software Engineer, AI to own the full-stack development of customer-facing AI features. This is a product engineering role, not platform/infra — you'll turn LLMs, agents, and RAG pipelines into polished experiences like streaming chat, agentic workflows, and intelligent summaries, working closely with AI Engineers, Product, and Design.What You'll DoBuild AI-powered features end-to-end (React/TypeScript → Node.js/Python) with streaming and human-in-the-loop patternsTranslate RAG pipelines and agentic workflows into intuitive, natural interactionsPartner with AI Engineers on API contracts; advocate for the user when model outputs break downBuild feedback loops that surface AI output quality signal to the broader teamEstablish reusable patterns that speed up future AI feature developmentWhat You'll Bring5+ years shipping full-stack features in production; 2+ years on AI-powered product featuresStrong React/TypeScript, plus solid Python/Node.jsHands-on LLM API experience (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.); understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, and evalsFamiliarity with agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, or similar) and streaming patterns (SSE/WebSockets)Strong product sense and a track record collaborating cross-functionally in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsBonus: compliance/security/GRC domain experience, MCP or tool-use interfaces, feedback/annotation tooling experience.Compensation & Benefits$190K–$240K base + equity (RSUs), up to 100% employer-paid medical/dental/vision, 401(k), paid parental leave, and flexible PTO.Interested or know someone who'd be a great fit?
