It also gives organizations a clearer picture of the skills across their workforce, so they can align talent to what the business needs most and adapt as that need shifts.As an Android engineer on this team, you’ll build the native mobile experiences that bring skills intelligence, career pathing, and AI-powered learning to millions of professionals, at the moments that matter most for their careers. Working closely with product, design, and our web and backend counterparts, you’ll turn ideas like AI-driven role recommendations and personalized learning plans into fast, reliable, native experiences — reaching millions of employees across tens of thousands of companies worldwide — and helping both people and organizations navigate a changing world of work.ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute user-facing features for the native LinkedIn app on Android devices by leveraging mobile operating system frameworks for multi-threading, persisting data, and managing user experience and graphics across multiple screen sizes. Use the latest technologies and libraries recommended by Google for building responsive native Android apps. Build scalable native mobile apps using LinkedIn’s internal libraries. Make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns; write code and deliver with speed and quality. Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, peer reviewed, and integrated regularly. Provide technical leadership to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, business-critical programs. Identify, leverage, and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity. QualificationsBasic QualificationsBS in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience. 2+ years of industry experience. Preferred Qualifications3+ years of relevant work experience. MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline. Foundation in computer science with a strong understanding of data structures, object-oriented programming, and algorithms. Knowledge of common mobile application design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM, MVP). Familiarity with API design and client/server communication principles. Understanding of best practices for multithreading and performance optimizations. Knowledge of Android debugging tools, including profiling app performance. Experience writing automated tests for Android apps. Programming experience in Kotlin.
