Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure (Go / Kubernetes)$220,000–$300,000 Base + Equity | New York CityWant to build the software that manages production cloud infrastructure rather than simply configure and operate it?We’re looking for a Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure to join a fast-growing, VC-backed infrastructure software company in New York City. Its platform enables businesses to deploy and scale applications across their own AWS, GCP and Azure environments without needing to build a large internal DevOps function.You’ll join a small, highly technical engineering team where infrastructure is the product. Working primarily with Go and Kubernetes, you’ll design and build the systems responsible for provisioning, managing and safely rolling out infrastructure changes across hundreds of customer cloud environments.This is a Staff-level, hands-on individual contributor role with considerable ownership. You’ll solve complex multi-cloud engineering challenges, work directly with customers and influence a platform used by companies ranging from early-stage startups to large enterprises.What you’ll be doing:Build production backend software that programmatically provisions and manages customer cloud infrastructureDesign reliable systems for deploying changes across hundreds of AWS, GCP and Azure environmentsDevelop cloud-agnostic architecture that supports customers at very different stages of scaleSolve complex challenges involving multi-cloud Kubernetes deployment, automation and reliabilityImprove the safety, scalability and resilience of the platform’s infrastructure-management systemsWork directly with customers to understand their requirements and turn them into product improvementsOwn complex technical problems from initial design through to productionRaise engineering standards across architecture, testing, reliability and code qualityWhat we’re looking for:Strong backend software engineering experience, including currently writing production application codeCommercial experience developing backend systems in Golang (Go)Deep understanding of Kubernetes and modern cloud infrastructureExperience with multi-cloud platforms: AWS, GCP or AzureExperience building software that provisions, manages or controls infrastructureA background within a cloud platform, PaaS, IaaS, developer infrastructure or internal developer platform companyAbility to work independently and solve complex, ambiguous engineering problemsStrong communication skills and confidence working directly with customersExperience building infrastructure products at a VC-backed startupThis is not a conventional DevOps or SRE role. The company needs a software engineer who builds infrastructure-management products, rather than someone whose experience is primarily focused on configuring infrastructure, maintaining CI/CD pipelines or operating existing environments.They are offering a base salary of $220,000–$300,000 base salary plus equity, and great benefits including, 30 days of paid time off and up to 30 days of remote working each year.
