Backend Software Engineer - Cybersecurity firm. 3-days in office - Redwood I'm searching for a backend engineer to join a well-capitalized, early-stage startup building software for enterprise security teams. The founders have spent their careers running security at major global tech companies, so they know exactly what they're building and why, and the product is already landing well on the market.Engineering is a tight-knit group, and releases go out constantly, so you'll have your hands on production code almost immediately rather than waiting around for it.The right person here is someone who's comfortable figuring out what to work on without being handed a brief, who can adjust when priorities move, and who's just as happy explaining a technical tradeoff to a customer as they are reviewing a colleague's code. What you're working on:The technical heart of this role is working on a large number of external enterprise systems and turning a flood of incoming data into something usable in real time. You'll be writing the integrations themselves, building out the pipelines that process and correlate that data as it streams in, and working within a multi-tenant backend that the wider product relies on for analytics and scoring logic. There's also active applied-AI work happening inside the engineering team already, for anyone who wants to get involved there.Stack:GoPostgreSQLGoogle Cloud Platform (Azure / AWS are also fine :) )Event-driven systemsNot fully fluent in Go yet? Not a dealbreaker- if you've got a solid Python or TypeScript background and you're genuinely keen to pick it up, that works. What Matters to ThemComfortable with relational databases; designing schemas, writing real queries, understanding how indexing affects performance. Reasonably at home in cloud infrastructure. Able to explain your thinking clearly, in writing and out loud. It's a bonus, not a requirement, if you've built integrations against third-party APIs before, worked with message queues or event-driven systems, or had any exposure to security-adjacent tooling — identity platforms, endpoint protection, cloud security, that kind of thing.Probably Not for You If You:Want a clearly defined lane and detailed specs before starting workNeed the structure of a larger, more established organizationPlease note, this company cannot offer visa / sponsorship
