Guided by the belief that design drives growth, builds culture, and connects audiences to brands, Yesterday’s Tomorrow delivers work that is both strategically sound and visually compelling.Role Description The Owner role at Yesterday’s Tomorrow Studio is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY. The Owner leads overall studio vision, strategy, and operations, overseeing creative direction across fashion, product, and brand projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client relationships, defining project scopes, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring work meets high creative and strategic standards. The role also involves business development, financial oversight, and resource planning to support sustainable studio growth. The Owner cultivates a collaborative, inclusive studio culture, mentors team members and partners, and represents the studio in industry events, meetings, and presentations.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in creative direction, brand strategy, or design leadership within fashion, product, or related creative industries.Strong portfolio showing work with both established and emerging brands, highlighting strategic thinking and distinctive visual storytelling.Proven ability to manage studio operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and project resourcing in a fast-paced environment.Excellent client leadership skills, with experience in pitching concepts, negotiating scopes, and maintaining long-term partnerships.Ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering inclusive collaboration among designers, strategists, and storytellers.Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with comfort representing the studio publicly and in high-stakes meetings.Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building, growing, or significantly scaling creative businesses or departments.Bachelor’s degree in design, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Deep understanding of fashion and brand trends, with the ability to translate cultural insights into compelling creative directions.
