Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through Amazon’s approved 3rd party Direct Source provider for the duration of the specified project and will not be an employee of Amazon.Prime Air is seeking a Software Development Engineer with strong software design, coding, scripting, automation, and cloud infrastructure skills to help transform manual workflows into efficient, reliable, and scalable automated software systems.This role sits at the intersection of aerospace/geospatial operations and cloud-native software engineering making it ideal for candidates who bring both domain expertise and hands-on technical depth.This role is focused on driving operational excellence by partnering with senior engineers to understand current manual processes, build technical playbooks, and implement robust automation solutions using scripts and cloud tooling.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have experience in scripting and programing languages (such as Python, Java, Rust)1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applicationsAbility to build end to end AWS cloud infrastructure,Background in geospatial systems or aerospace/aviation or drone operationsStrong understanding of data validation techniques.Export Control License:This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze and document existing manual processes within aerospace and geospatial operational environments.Design, develop and maintain software and tools to replace manual workflows, leveraging AWS cloud services.Build and document automation playbooks that are reusable, scalable, and aligned with aerospace/geospatial operational requirements.Implement and maintain data validation logic to ensure automation quality and data integrity across geospatial and flight systems data.Participate in the continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes related to test and operational infrastructure.Monitor and troubleshoot automated processes, ensuring reliability and performance in safety-critical environments.This posting is for a contract assignment with Tundra Technical Solutions to provide services to Amazon.The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $57/hour - $63/hour.Tundra’s benefits offering includes optional medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, and a New Child Benefit.Pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, qualified applicants will be considered for assignment with arrest and conviction records.
