Software Engineer — C# / SQL (Credit & Fixed Income)New York, NY (onsite) · Full-time · $125,000 – $150,000 base + 25% bonusA $20B+ hedge fund with a 30-year track record in credit, mortgage, and fixed income markets — loans, bonds, and derivatives. Research and technology drive the business here — much of senior leadership started in engineering, and the firm continues to invest heavily in both people and infrastructure.This isn't a cog-in-the-machine role. You'll work directly with trading, finance, and operations teams, see your work matter every single day, and help shape the systems that keep high-volume credit products running cleanly.What you'll own:Reconciliation systems for loans, bonds, and derivativesSQL pipelines, stored procedures, and daily operational workflowsBreak identification and resolution across internal and counterparty recordsPosition management, cash management, and P&L reporting modulesInternal tools, APIs, and workflow development across data engineering domainsProduction support for time-sensitive systems — portfolio management, risk, trade feeds, operational and accounting systemsAI buildouts — integrating LLMs and AI-assisted workflows into internal tools and research pipelinesWhat we're looking for:2–4 years of C# development, ideally in financial services or fintechStrong SQL — complex queries, stored procedures, query optimization, performance tuningBack office experience: reconciliation, position keeping, cash or accounting systemsWorking knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and comfort building front-ends a plusFamiliarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and a thoughtful approach to using them in production codebasesCredit, fixed income, MBS, whole loan, or structured product familiarity a strong plusSelf-directed — able to juggle priorities without hand-holdingBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related engineering disciplineWhy this role:Real ownership.
