Then you might be the Software Engineer we’re looking for!What you’ll doHardware control & integration:Develop software to interface with hardware components (lasers, scanners, stages, detectors).Implement precise timing, synchronization, and control workflows for measurement systems.Data & image processing & analysis:Design and implement algorithms for processing raw sensor data, image processing, and visualization.Collaborate with optics engineers and scientists to translate measurement requirements into robust software features.User interfaces & system architecture:Build efficient pipelines for handling large datasets and for real-time control.Develop intuitive user interfaces for instrument control and data visualization.Contribute to a modular, scalable codebase driven by best practices.Cross-Functional collaboration:Work closely with hardware and software engineers, physicists, and scientists.Participate in defining the product roadmap and translating customer requirements into technical solutions.What we're looking for4+ years of professional software development experience.Strong programming skills in Python and C, with proven experience applying these languages in embedded or hardware-focused environments.Broad and in-depth knowledge of software development tooling and processes such as automated testing (GitLab), test-driven development, and AI tool usage.Experience with embedded systems software: for hardware control, instrument systems or scientific applications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to decompose complex system requirements into maintainable architectures, frameworks, and automated test designsExperience in design and implementation of software architecture, especially for embedded or instrument-driven products.Provides technical leadership and contributes to software architecture and design decisions.Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment and is interested in continuous improvement.DesirableFamiliarity with image acquisition, image processing, or computer vision concepts is a plus, especially for instrument-driven or embedded products.Skilled at compiling, prioritizing, and managing issue lists to guide roadmap planning and ensure value-driven development.Ability to design a full test strategy, including code coverage requirements, automated execution, and testing.Willingness and ability to work on-site regularly to support product development, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.What We OfferA competitive market-based salary.Flexible working hours and a hybrid working model.The opportunity to work with the latest technologies while learning from experienced and talented developers through collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on experience.A supportive and collaborative team of dedicated professionals who value knowledge sharing and teamwork.A diverse and international work environment that encourages different perspectives and fosters inclusion.Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth through training, development, and exposure to new challenges.Regular team events, including lunches, dinners, and team-building activities that strengthen connections and celebrate achievements.
