The work from this role will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery by creating reliable, secure, and scalable applications. The Software Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including healthcare professionals, data scientists, and product managers to understand complex healthcare requirements and translate them into technical solutions. The role demands a strong commitment to quality, compliance with healthcare regulations, and continuous improvement to meet evolving industry standards. Ultimately, the Software Engineer’s contributions will help enhance member outcomes and support the mission of providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.2-3 years proficiency web-focused programming languages required. Experience with scripting languages and HTML5 for web-based interfaces.Demonstrated ability to develop secure and compliant software solutions in regulated environments.Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in the healthcare or social assistance industry.Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations such as HIPAA and HL7/FHIR.Utilize agile development methodologies using Python for workflow and automation.Familiarity with AI technology to assist with software design.Integration of AI into business workflow processes.Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.Advanced degree or certifications related to software development or healthcare IT.Responsibilities:Demonstrate commitment to Our Mission and models ILS Experience Standards of Excellence.Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using applicable programing languages to meet healthcare-specific requirements.Collaborate with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Design new healthcare software systems, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.Write and maintain clear, efficient, and well-documented code, utilizing scripting languages for front-end and automation tasks.Use Git for version control to manage codebase changes, collaborate with team members, and support continuous integration and deployment processes.Perform other duties as assigned.
