Brands ranging from consumer app founders to B2B companies use SideShift to find creators who are a strong fit for their products and content needs.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services that power the SideShift marketplace, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities include implementing APIs, integrating data sources, and collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features. The role also involves writing clean, testable code, performing code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to architectural decisions and technical documentation.Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including API design and working with databases and web frameworks.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and best practices for modular, maintainable code.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with modern backend languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and version control systems such as Git.Familiarity with cloud platforms, microservices, and containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
