Software Engineer - PythonUp to $180kNY (Hybrid - 3 days in per week)Our client is a well-funded IoT technology company building innovative hardware and cloud solutions that bring connectivity and intelligence to everyday products and packaging.Their technology is used by some of the world's largest consumer, retail, food, and pharmaceutical companies to change the way products are made, distributed, sold, used, and recycled.The RoleWe're looking for software engineers to join a growing engineering team and help build the next generation of data-driven applications that bring intelligence to individual cases across the supply chain.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, and deploying applications that interface with an IoT cloud platform, device data, and enterprise systems. You'll work closely with product managers, hardware teams, and customer-facing leads to deliver high-impact software at scale.What You'll Be DoingBuild and maintain microservices in Python, powering the core of the platform.Architect backend services and APIs that turn raw ambient sensor data into something enterprises can actually use.Work alongside data engineering and platform teams to keep real-time and batch pipelines flowing smoothly.Get involved early — helping shape requirements and product direction, not just building to spec.Keep an eye on performance, security, and scalability as the platform grows.Dig into production issues and drive them to resolution.Cover your code with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.Help evolve the CI/CD pipeline and wider DevOps setup.Keep technical decisions documented and share knowledge with the wider team.What You'll Bring3–6 years' experience building backend or full-stack software.Strong, hands-on Python skills — non-negotiable.Solid track record on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Hands-on experience with Apache Spark.Comfortable designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.Good grounding in relational and/or NoSQL databases — think PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB.Used to working in agile, fast-moving teams.Sharp debugging instincts and a good head for system design.Open to hybrid working out of Dallas or NYC.
