Our team brings experience from leading organisations like PayPal, Deutsche Bank, London Stock Exchange Group, RBC, BlackRock, AQR, Brevan Howard, and Galaxy Digital, offering deep expertise across traditional finance and digital assets.About the RoleThis is a full-time UK-based (must be within ~2 hours of London for regular office days) Software Engineer role. The Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain back-end services that power Levl’s global payment infrastructure, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security. Daily work includes implementing new features, optimizing APIs and data flows, integrating with internal and external payment systems, and collaborating with product and operations teams to solve complex payment and infrastructure challenges. The role also involves writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, improving system performance, and contributing to architectural decisions and documentation. The Software Engineer will work across the stack (frontend and backend).QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.Experience in Back-End Development and Software Development for production systems, ideally in fintech or payments.Proficiency in Programming using Java and familiarity with microservices architectures.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.Experience working with APIs, databases (SQL), and event-driven architectures.Comfortable with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of payments, crypto, FX trading, or financial infrastructure is a strong plus.Ability to collaborate in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of technical solutions.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
