The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain back-end services and web applications that power Agnios IQ’s expert network and research platforms. Responsibilities include implementing robust APIs, optimizing database interactions, integrating third-party services, and ensuring system reliability, security, and scalability. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, data and research teams, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of the engineering stack and practices. The Software Engineer will also help troubleshoot production issues, refine system performance, and document technical designs and processes.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, using modern languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar.Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and server-side frameworks.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization or deployment tools is beneficial.Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, and to participate in code reviews constructively.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and performance.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, on-site team environment.
