Software Engineer

A leading global energy trading business is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to build and own data platforms at the heart of a data driven energy trading operation. You will take ownership of features from concept to production, solving complex distributed systems and high volume data engineering problems at scale.The Core Tech Stack: C# | .NET | ASP.NET | Angular | Kafka | SQL Server | Docker | Azure Service Bus | Grafana | Azure DevOpsSalary 70,000 with 15-20% Bonus 10% PensionWhat You Will Do:Design scalable APIs and high performance data services handling real time market data streams and high volume ingestion pipelinesOptimise data layers and query performance across relational and non relational databases including SQL Server, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQLDeploy, scale, and maintain distributed backend systems containerised via Docker and orchestrated within Kubernetes environmentsMentor other developers, contribute to architectural direction, and influence the overall platform strategyImplement modern engineering practices including test automation, observability, logging, and CI/CD pipelinesWhat We Are Looking For:Senior Engineering Experience: Expert level C# and .NET with several years of commercial experience building data intensive systemsSystem Design Expertise: Solid understanding of event driven architecture, data modelling, and distributed systems designData Engineering Background: Experience with high volume ingestion, low latency streaming, or real time data platformsIf interested please feel free to apply even if you do not tick every box in our tech stack.
