Formerly known as Hex Security, Parameter is backed by Y Combinator, Nexus Ventures, and Inovia Capital, offering a fast-paced, high-impact environment for engineers interested in security and AI.Role Description As a Software Engineer at Parameter, you will design, build, and maintain backend services that power autonomous AI pentesting agents. You will write production-quality code, implement APIs, integrate with cloud infrastructure, and optimize system performance and reliability. You will collaborate with security specialists, product managers, and other engineers to translate offensive security workflows into scalable software features and tools. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, CA, where you will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve engineering practices and automation across the stack.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems concepts.Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming in one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, Java, or similar).Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with databases.Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in production systems.Familiarity with security concepts, penetration testing workflows, or interest in offensive security and AI-driven tooling.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code or containerization is beneficial.Ability to write clean, testable code, perform code reviews, and collaborate in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
