You will work on Payfinia’s core payment platform — IPX (Instant Payment Exchange) — which powers FedNow, RTP, ACH, and Wire payment rails for financial institutions across the United States. This role offers direct exposure to production-grade, real-time payment systems in an agile, fast-paced environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices for the IPX payment platformBuild and consume RESTful APIs; integrate with payment rails and financial institution core systemsWork with MySQL, Redis, and IBM MQ as part of the payment processing pipelineWrite clean, testable code with strong unit test coverage; participate in peer code reviewsCollaborate with senior developers, architects, and QA on sprint deliverablesDebug and resolve production issues; support incident triage and root cause analysisLeverage AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to improve productivity and code qualityFollow secure coding practices aligned with PCI-DSS and SOC2 requirementsSKILLS REQUIRED:2–3 years of Java development experience with strong OOP fundamentalsHands-on experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API developmentWorking knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL)Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflowsUnderstanding of microservices architecture and service-to-service communicationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile sprint environmentB.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science or related fieldGood communication and collaboration abilitiesGOOD TO HAVE:Experience with message queues (IBM MQ, Kafka, or RabbitMQ)Exposure to Docker / Kubernetes or cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Familiarity with the payments domain — ACH, Wire, or real-time payment railsKnowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, or mTLS security patternsWHY JOIN Payfinia?Work on real-time payment systems used by financial institutions across the U.S.Learn from experienced engineers in an agile, collaborative environmentGain hands-on experience with modern fintech product developmentGrow your career in the payments and digital banking industryBe part of an award-winning team recognized for innovation in real-time payments
