Software Engineer

.NET DEVELOPER – LONDON – 12 MONTHS+My client is looking for an experienced Freelance .NET Developer to support the delivery of modern digital platforms within the energy and utilities sector.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain robust applications and microservices using .NET (C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+)Build and enhance APIs and backend services supporting energy platforms (e.g., billing, metering, grid systems)Contribute to modernisation initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to cloud-native architecturesEnsure high availability and performance of systems handling real-time or near real-time dataImplement secure and maintainable code, adhering to industry best practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and data engineersSupport integration with third-party systems, IoT platforms, and external data providersExperience:Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET 6+Proven track record building APIs and distributed systemsExperience with microservices and/or service-oriented architecturesBackground in energy, utilities, or related industries (e.g., smart metering, renewables, grid systems)Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP also considered)Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes is a plus)Strong understanding of data handling and integration patternsExperience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Cosmos DB)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)Start date: ASAPDuration: 12 months+Location: LONDONIf you’d like to be considered for this role please send your CV to Jacob.wylie@weareinvestigo.com .
