We welcome engineering professionals from a variety of backgrounds to add to our diverse teams in our Mumbai development centre.Java and Spring are our primary backend technologies, with Angular and TypeScript on the frontend.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the full product lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, configuration, and deploymentDevelop software using Agile methodologies, including Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and Continuous Deployment practicesProvide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and defect fixes for Smartstream solutions and internal toolkitsFollow Smartstream's engineering processes, coding guidelines, and quality standardsBuild scalable, resilient, and high-performance software solutions that meet the stringent requirements of global financial institutionsDesign, implement, and execute comprehensive unit and integration test suitesDevelop automation solutions to streamline and enhance the software development lifecycleMust-Have SkillsStrong professional experience with Java 8/17+ and Angular 15+Hands-on proficiency with Git, Maven, NPM, and Jenkins PipelinesDeep understanding of Spring Framework and Spring Boot microservices architectureExperience with RESTful APIs and Swagger/OpenAPIPractical experience working with SQL on relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgresExperience using AI tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot in developmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood to HaveExperience with containerisation technologies: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShiftUnderstanding of AI technologies such as MCPExposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWSExperience5+ years of software engineering experience, having progressed from a junior/associate engineering roleExperience developing in a software vendor environment is desirable but not requiredFinancial software experience would be a bonus but is not expectedEducationEngineering graduate with a Computer Science / Information Technology background, or similar
