Software Engineer

We're hiring a hands-on engineer to build and own production systems across our full stack. You'll ship real features and platform components, hold your work and your team's work to a high quality bar, and grow your technical scope over time.How we build has changed. You'll spend less time typing syntax and more time specifying intent, directing AI coding agents, and reviewing what they produce. You own the correctness of everything you ship, whoever or whatever wrote the first draft.We hire at two levels, Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. The level is set during the process based on your experience and the scope you've owned.YOUR TASKS: Build, with AI as a core toolImplement features and platform components end-to-end, from design through productionSpecify, generate, review, and validate AI-generated code with the same rigor as your ownWrite tests, refactor, and improve the codebase as you goPrototype approaches in real code before committing to themRaise the bar on qualityWrite maintainable, well-tested, production-grade codeGive thoughtful code reviews, with extra scrutiny on AI-assisted changesContribute to observability, reliability, security, and CI/CD practices in your teamShare what works (and what doesn't) with AI-assisted developmentDesign and decideDesign services, APIs, and components within your team's domainMake pragmatic trade-offs between delivery speed and long-term health, and explain your reasoningUnderstand the productConnect your work to product outcomes and customer impactGive technical input on scope and prioritization instead of just taking ticketsWork with product and design to keep our data handling compliant and transparentRequirementsWhat we're looking for5+ years of professional experience shipping production softwareA track record of owning a system or domain end to endEvidence that you've raised a team's engineering standards through mentoring and technical influenceStrong proficiency in modern full-stack development, for example TypeScript/Node.js, .NET and ReactDeep hands-on experience with AI coding tools, and the judgment to review and stand behind their outputSolid grasp of API design, distributed systems and cloud-native architectureExperience running services in production on a major cloud provider. Containers and Kubernetes are a plusThe ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and reason about cost and valuePragmatic judgment and comfort with ambiguityNice to haveExperience in privacy, consent management or another regulated-data domainExperience introducing or scaling AI-assisted development practices in a teamHow we work: AI-native by defaultUsercentrics is pushing AI adoption across engineering, and we expect you to work this way from day one.
