🚀 Expression of Interest: Software Engineer (Python & AWS) | Melbourne | Hybrid | $100k–$120k + SuperWe’re seeking expressions of interest from experienced Software Engineers with strong Python development skills, hands-on AWS experience, and a background in financial services or fintech, for an upcoming opportunity – recruitment commencing in December 2026.You’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining secure, scalable backend systems, APIs and cloud-based solutions that support financial products and services.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working with modern cloud technologies and building reliable, high-quality software.What you’ll be doing:Developing and maintaining scalable backend applications and microservices using Python (FastAPI, Django or Flask)Building, deploying and supporting secure cloud infrastructure within AWSDeveloping and integrating RESTful APIs, banking systems, payment gateways and financial data providersBuilding and maintaining efficient data pipelines for financial reporting and transaction processingImplementing security, compliance and software engineering best practicesCollaborating with Product, Engineering, QA and Security teams to deliver high-quality solutionsWhat we’re looking for:3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend engineeringStrong Python development skills, including experience with asynchronous programmingHands-on experience with AWS cloud services, such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB and IAMProfessional experience working within financial services, fintech, banking or investment managementExperience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational and non-relational databasesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Git and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)Nice to have: Experience with event-driven architectures (AWS SQS, SNS or Kafka)Exposure to financial market data, trading systems, ledger systems or risk management platformsKnowledge of financial industry security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PCI-DSS or GDPR)📍 Location: Melbourne, VIC🏢 Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)💰 Salary: $100,000–$120,000 + Super📄 Employment: Full-time, permanentIf you’re a Software Engineer with strong Python and AWS experience and a background in financial services, we’d love to hear from you!📩 Apply now or reach out for a confidential conversation.
