Software Engineer / Data Engineer

Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Software Engineer / Data Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and improve software applications and data solutions that support business operations and technology initiatives. This role combines software development with data engineering, requiring strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively across different teams.The role will involve developing scalable and reliable applications, writing clean and maintainable code, integrating APIs and third-party services, and troubleshooting technical issues. You will participate in the full development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.As a Data Engineer, you will also design and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, databases, and data integration workflows. You will work with structured and unstructured data, improve data quality and accessibility, and support the delivery of reliable datasets for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.The successful candidate will collaborate with software developers, analysts, product teams, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver practical solutions. You will also contribute to system optimization, automation, documentation, security, and continuous improvement of development and data processes.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, data structures, and system design.Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar.Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, database design, and data modeling.Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data integration concepts.Familiarity with REST APIs, web services, and application integration.Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.Familiarity with cloud platforms, data warehouses, or distributed data technologies is advantageous.Understanding of software testing, debugging, deployment, and application monitoring practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to technical details.Ability to work with large datasets and identify data quality or performance issues.Good communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and non-technical teams.Proactive mindset with an interest in automation, emerging technologies, system optimization, and continuous improvement.
