About the RoleYou will join our Rotterdam based Investment Engineering team, in some cases working together with the larger engineering team in London and Malaga, to help development of Data Pipelines, ETL processes and Python tooling to make Cardano’s Investment business more robust, scalable and efficient. You work directly together with the business to convert their needs into software solutions that is compatible with our stack, design philosophy and architecture. You develop a good understanding of financial markets and pension funds to maintain a conversation with the business and think along with their problem statement.We believe in picking the best tool for the job. Our stack consists of a variety of technologies that can best solve a specific problem. You have a voice in using, reducing or expanding that stack. The developer would be expected to work collaboratively and share their knowledge with other team members and contribute to the improvement of the platform, practices and patterns and technology stack. They would actively participate in our culture of learning program to stay current with industry trends, to train and to participate in the data engineering community.This is an opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual to learn, grow and make a significant contribution to the technology, business productivity and efficiency.Key Responsibilities You will join Cardano’s Direct Investment Unit (DIU) RegReporting team, which is responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of all mandatory regulatory reporting obligations. This includes key frameworks such as MiFID and SFTR, as well as related reporting processes that support broader regulatory governance and operational control. The team plays a critical role in ensuring the organization meets its reporting obligations while maintaining strong standards of data quality, process integrity, and risk management. Core tasks include:Use your Software Engineering skills to provide complete solutions using best practices, ensuring performance and reliability.There is typically no middle person between you and the business and together with the business you convert their needs into software that is compatible with our stack, design philosophy and architecture.You develop a good understanding of financial markets, financial risk management and pension funds in order to maintain a conversation with the business and think along with their problem statement.Work closely with the DataOps, DevOps, infrastructure platform team and other data project teams to ensure your projects use the most appropriate technology consistent with the firm’s strategic tools.Staying abreast of changing technologies, and continuous learning of innovative approaches to data and software engineering and technologies and bring those ideas into the firm.As part of the software engineering support rota, approximately one day every two weeks within working hours, provide production monitoring, and management of applications, API’s, overnight batches, and data feeds into, and out of the firm.What we are looking forTo perform the role effectively, you will need the following skills:Good programming skills with minimum 2 years production experience in building Web APIs and Web ApplicationsExperience working with PythonExperience in writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration …)Experience working with databases (Relational or non-Relational)Experience with FastAPI, GraphQL and RabbitMQ is a bonusExperience working with Dotnet a bonusExperience with Big Data Technologies such as Airflow, Hive, NiFi is a bonusWhat you'll bringA minimum of 2 years’ working experience and a bachelor's degree.You see technology as a means, not as an end.
