We are building the future of responsible consumer finance, simple, transparent, and customer-first.About the Role:Snapmint is looking for a Backend Engineer (SDE I) who enjoys solving real-world problems at scale and building reliable backend systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers and product managers to develop backend services powering Snapmint’s fintech platform. This role offers significant learning opportunities, strong mentorship, and exposure to building scalable distributed systems in a fast-growing product company.Responsibilities:Build and maintain backend services and APIs used by Snapmint productsWrite clean, maintainable, and production-quality codeCollaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and senior backend engineers to deliver featuresParticipate in code reviews and improve engineering quality and standardsContribute to debugging, performance improvements, and reliability of servicesLearn and implement scalable cloud-native and distributed system practicesContinuously improve your technical skills and engineering craftQualifications:BE/BTech in Computer Science or related field1–3 years of backend development experienceRequired Skills:Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScriptExperience working with databases such as PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDBGood understanding of data structures and algorithmsStrong problem-solving skillsPreferred Skills:Familiarity with REST APIs and microservicesExposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure)Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architecturesUnderstanding of testing practices and automationContributions to open-source or personal GitHub projects are a plus
