Job Description: Automation TestingPosition OverviewAs an Assistant Manager in the Global Markets (GM) IT department, you will serve as a technical authority responsible for driving the evolution of our quality assurance ecosystem. This role goes beyond traditional automation; you will be a catalyst for innovation, merging deep-dive automation mastery with AI-driven methodologies to accelerate release cycles and maximize productivity. You will design, architect, and implement scalable, high-performance test automation frameworks (UI, API, and Integration) that ensure the stability of our market-leading Global Markets IT applications. Located in Mumbai, this role is pivotal in our global partnership to deliver world-class financial technology solutions.Job Responsibilities1. Framework Architecture & DesignEnd-to-End Design: Architect and maintain robust, modular, and scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and Integration testing.Tooling & Patterns: Select and implement top-tier tools (e.g., Selenium) and industry-standard design patterns (Page Object Model, Factory, Singleton, or BDD) to ensure high maintainability and minimal code duplication.Data & Version Control: Develop automated solutions for test data management (setup/cleanup) and design modular repository structures and branching strategies in GitHub/Bitbucket to facilitate seamless multi-team collaboration.2. DevOps & CI/CD IntegrationPipeline Ownership: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps) to enable automated regression and gated check-ins.Cloud & Observability: Architect parallel test execution across cloud-based systems and implement advanced reporting dashboards to provide stakeholders with real-time quality metrics.3. Functional & Regression TestingExecution: Manage core test execution (regression, sanity) across web, mobile, and API surfaces.Strategy & Triage: Develop test plans and risk-based prioritization matrices aligned with market requirements. Lead defect triage in collaboration with developers, product owners, and compliance teams.4. Technical Leadership & AI InnovationAI Implementation: Drive the integration of AI to solve automation challenges, such as implementing self-healing locators, utilizing AI coding assistants for productivity, and evaluating AI for automated functional test case generation from user stories.Governance & Mentorship: Act as the final gatekeeper for code quality through rigorous reviews and establish high coding standards. Mentor junior engineers to evolve their architectural and coding capabilities.Required Skills and ExperienceExperience:Minimum of 7+ years of dedicated experience in Automation Testing.Proven experience in the Capital Markets or Banking domain.Technical Skills:Programming: Expert-level proficiency in Java or Python.Automation Tools: Deep hands-on experience with Selenium.Framework Design: Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex automation frameworks from scratch.DevOps & Tools: Proficiency in Version Control (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).Infrastructure: Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud execution.Test Management: Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, ALM, or TFS.Behavioral Competencies:Strong analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.High sense of ownership, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Good to Have Skills and ExperienceAdvanced Automation: Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress.Specialized Testing: Experience in Mobile Testing or advanced API Testing (e.g., Postman).AI Mastery: Practical experience with AI-assisted testing methodologies.Leadership: Experience in coaching, mentoring, and driving technical roadmaps.About the CompanyBNP Paribas is the leading bank in the European Union and a major player in international banking, operating in 65 countries.
