Software Engineer Intern

We are thankful to partner with the University of Detroit Mercy and its Readying Professionals in Mobility (RPM) program to hire a Software Engineering intern this fall. To be eligible for this internship, you must be a student at any university based in Michigan. We work with clients across industries to build custom web applications, data pipelines, and AI-powered workflows.The RoleWe are looking for a part-time Software Engineering Intern to help build web applications for real clients alongside our engineers this fall. This is a paid, in-person role at our Ann Arbor office. Pay is $19 to $23 per hour, based on experience. We are looking for someone to start ASAP.Who Can Apply Applicants must be currently enrolled in an engineering or computer science program at a college or university in Michigan. Hours24 hours per week, ideally three full days in the office.What We Are Looking For- Experience building web applications with React or Next.js, through coursework, projects, or work- Comfort with TypeScript, Node.js or Express, and SQL- Python and FastAPI are a plus- Experience building with AI tools or connecting AI models (like OpenAI or Claude) into apps is a plus- Cloud experience is a bonus- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and communicate clearlyWhy Barrett Solutions- Hands-on work on real client projects from day one- A small, tight-knit team where you will learn fast and contribute meaningfully- Scheduling that works around your classes
